Join us for a gentle, age-appropriate session focused on supporting your baby’s brain and body development through fun, guided activities.

Led by Kirstie Watson and Rachel England, this class introduces your little one to tummy time, rhythm and movement, while laying the foundation for rolling, head control and crawling – all in a warm, supportive environment for new parents.

Whether you’re a first-time parent or adding to your growing family, this is a beautiful opportunity to bond with your baby, meet other parents, and learn how small, simple activities can support your child’s developmental milestones.

This engaging session is specially created to support your baby’s development as they begin to sit, crawl, pull up and explore the world around them.

Through a series of fun, research-based activities – including movement games, music and play on baby-safe equipment – your little one will build essential skills for physical and cognitive growth.

Led by experienced developmental educators Kirstie Watson and Rachel England, this class also gives parents valuable insights into infant milestones and how to support your child’s learning through play

Canberra Women & Babies in collaboration with Joanna Lewis, the founder of Super Safety Mum, warmly invite you to our -

Baby & Child First Aid Course.

This hands-on, small-group, face-to-face, accredited CPR course is designed to provide expectant parents, new parents, grandparents and other caregivers with the knowledge, essential life-saving skills, and confidence to deliver emergency first aid for babies and children.

Using practical, performance-based scenarios, participants will learn how to:

  • Respond to an emergency situation

  • Manage breathing and cardiac emergencies in a first aid setting

  • Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on an infant or child

  • Accurately convey incident details to emergency services

  • Understand how and when to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)  

In addition*, participants will also learn how to:

  • manage a choking emergency in an infant or child

  • recognise and manage common viral illnesses in infants and young children.

This course is facilitated by Joanna Lewis. Jo is a passionate and dedicated Registered Nurse with over 20 years of experience in clinical and managerial roles across several nursing specialties, including Emergency, Medical and Surgical care, Women's and Children's Health, and Hospital Operations. She holds postgraduate qualifications in Critical Care, Professional Healthcare Education, and Medical Retrieval. Jo thrives on helping others grow and is particularly passionate about supporting new and expectant parents.

This is a baby-friendly course. Infants under the age of 12 months are welcome.

Important note: This is an accredited course for CPR (HLTAID009 CPR only). For an accredited certificate to be issued, the online prior learning must be completed, and CPR must be performed on the floor with no exemptions.

Participants who complete the face-to-face training but do not complete the online prior learning will be issued with a non-accredited information session certificate.

*The additional teaching related to choking and viral illnesses are non-accredited components of this session.

Clothing: We suggest that you wear comfortable casual clothing, as the practical nature of the demonstrations and practice may possibly require bending, kneeling and lying on the floor. Pants and flat shoes are recommended.

Canberra Women & Babies in conjunction with Georgina Farrell, the founder of Wonderbump Perinatal Psychology, is delighted to invite you to a presentation on Building a Secure Attachment With Your Baby.

Georgina is a warm and compassionate psychologist, focussing on perinatal and infant mental health. She uses a relationship-based approach to address perinatal mental health, tailored to each family’s needs. She supports new and expectant parents.

Her presentation on Building a Secure Attachment with Your Baby draws on attachment research and the Circle of Security Parenting (COSP) framework to introduce the language of the attachment relationship between a parent and their child. Simple ways on how to bond with your baby will be introduced.
